Black Hawk electronic drums are designed with an emphasis on reliability, playing comfort and the greatest possible reduction of noise.

The Black Hawk Pulse training series was created above all for playing at home. The compact build works well in smaller rooms too, and easy assembly and folding make the kit simple to live with day to day. Pulse kits offer Bluetooth Audio and Bluetooth MIDI, work with a dedicated app, and each one comes with a subscription to the Beatlii app, which supports learning and regular practice.

The Black Hawk N-Tron series consists of modern, professional electronic kits designed to reproduce the character, dynamics and feel of a classic acoustic drum kit as faithfully as possible. Advanced multi-zone triggering captures the nuances of your playing precisely, and an innovative audio interface extends what the instrument can do in recording and on stage. Frequently asked questions

1. What are the differences between the Pulse versions?

All Pulse versions share the same sound module, a 10″ snare pad, 8″ and 10″ tom pads, a 12″ ride and a mesh kick pad. They differ in the hi-hat, the crash cymbals, an extra floor tom and whether a drum throne is included.

Pro adds an extra 10″ floor tom and a 10″ Crash2. VH stands for a 12″ hi-hat cymbal mounted on a hi-hat stand and a larger 12″ crash; the VH versions do not include a drum throne.

2. What can the Pulse kit be connected to?

The Pulse sound module has both wired outputs and Bluetooth, so the kit works with headphones, a PA system, a computer and a phone.

  • Headphones — 3.5 mm mini-jack headphone output.
  • Mixer or PA system — two L/R line outputs.
  • Computer or phone via USB — MIDI signal transfer; the kit works as a wired MIDI controller.
  • Bluetooth Audio — pairing with a phone or computer to stream music to the module and play along to your own tracks.
  • Bluetooth MIDI — wireless transmission of MIDI notes to apps such as Beatlii and other practice and recording software.

The kit can therefore act as a MIDI controller either wired (USB) or wirelessly (Bluetooth MIDI).

3. Do I need a mat under the Pulse kit?

Yes. A mat or rug is an essential addition to the kit: the kick pad anchors on it and does not creep while you play, and the mat dampens the vibrations passed from the kick pad to the floor.

We also recommend it because it protects the floor from damage during play and makes playing more comfortable. We offer a modular Black Hawk electronic drum isolation mat made of EVA foam.

4. Can the Black Hawk Pulse be folded away?

Yes. The Pulse kit is designed for quick assembly without tools: all the mounting hardware uses wing nuts, so you can loosen and tighten everything by hand.

When the kit is not in use, you can fold it up and move it elsewhere so that it takes up less space.

5. How loud is the Pulse kit?

An electronic kit is quiet by nature: the sound goes to headphones or a PA system, and in the room you only hear the taps of the sticks and the kick pedal. The kick pad is usually the loudest part.

That is why the Pulse kick pad has a mechanical noise-damping system developed by Black Hawk — one of the quietest kick pads among electronic kits, so you can play comfortably in an apartment building. We also recommend a damping mat, which reduces vibrations transmitted through the floor.

The tom pads with mesh heads also contain additional noise-damping elements.
